Savvy Navvy isn’t just another marine navigation app — it’s the only one that builds intelligent routes based on wind, weather, tide, your boat settings, and even local regulations. This means smarter, safer passage planning every time you set sail.

If you’d like to use your Savvy Navvy route on a chartplotter such as Garmin or Raymarine, you can easily export it as a GPX file.

1 - Open Savvy Navvy

Launch the Savvy Navvy app on your mobile device or computer.

2 - Load or Plot Your Route

If you already have a route plotted on the chart, skip to Step 3.
To export a saved route, tap the Logbook tab in the lower-right corner.
Select the route you want to export, then tap Plot Route to replot it with the latest wind, weather, and tide data.

3 - Export as GPX

Once your route is plotted:

Open the bottom info panel
Tap More…
Select Export

4 - Choose Where to Save the File

On mobile: You’ll be prompted to choose where to save or share the GPX file.
On PC/Mac: The file will download automatically to your browser’s default d

Why am I not receiving emails from Savvy Navvy?

If you've tried requesting a new password via the Forgot your password? link, but no email has arrived to your inbox or junk/spam folder, the most probable reason would be, that our emails are being blocked by your provider.

Go to your BT Mail settings. On the left you should see “Safe Senders”. In there you should add 'ahoy@savvy-navvy.com' and 'ivo@support.savvy-mail.com' to make sure our emails do not get sent to spam. Just follow THIS link for more information.

|| For Yahoo users

To add us to your whitelist contacts in your Yahoo email address, just create a new contact with 'ahoy@savvy-navvy.com' and 'ivo@support.savvy-mail.com' Find out more information HERE.

How to Request a Refund from the Apple App Store

If you subscribed to Savvy Navvy through the Apple App Store and need a refund — for example, due to an accidental purchase or change of plans — you’ll need to request it directly through Apple. Because Apple manages all billing and payments for App Store subscriptions, we’re unable to process refunds ourselves (as much as we’d love to help directly).

Before You Start:

Apple’s policy: Refunds are usually considered within 90 days of purchase and for certain reasons only.
Apple ID: Make sure you can log in to the Apple ID used for the purchase.
Apple-only process: These steps apply only to subscriptions bought via the Apple App Store.

Steps to Request a Refund:

Go to Apple’s refund page: [reportaproblem.apple.com]()
Sign in with the Apple ID you used for your Savvy Navvy purchase.
Find your purchase in the list and select it.
Choose a reason for your request (e.g., “I didn’t intend to purchase this”).
Add a brief explanation if prompted.
Submit your request.

Apple will review your case and usually responds by email. They may request more details before making a decision.

How to Use GPS in Savvy Navvy (and What to Do If It’s Not Working)

Savvy Navvy uses your device’s GPS to show your real-time location on the chart — just like Google Maps — so you can always see where you are on the water.

📍 How to Centre the Map on Your Location

Tap the black circle icon (on the right-hand side of the screen).
The view will centre on your current GPS location and the icon will disappear.
To begin tracking your movement, tap Start — this will record your track as you move.

❗ If GPS Isn’t Working or the Map Doesn’t Centre

If tapping the icon doesn’t do anything, your device’s location permissions may be disabled, preventing Savvy Navvy from accessing your location.

On iOS

Go to Settings
Tap Privacy & Security > Location Services
Select Savvy Navvy
Set Allow Location Access to While Using the App

On Android

Long press the Savvy Navvy app icon and tap App info (or go to Settings > Apps & Notifications)
Tap Permissions > Location
Set access to Allow only while using the app

💡 Tip: Location services must be enabled at the device level — adjusting settings in the app won’t be enough on its own.

1 - Open the Routes tab

Make sure you're in the Routes tab by tapping it in the bottom bar.

2 - Choose Your Starting Point

You can set your start location in several ways:

Drop a pin directly on the chart by tapping on the chart
Search for a marina, anchorage, landmark, or location name
Enter latitude and longitude coordinates
Tap your current location if you are starting from where you are now

How Smart Routing Works

When you plot a route in Savvy Navvy, our algorithm factors in:

Tidal streams and heights – Calculated dynamically, hour by hour, for the full duration of your trip.
Wind and weather forecasts – Updated conditions influence your route throughout the passage, not just at the start.
Your vessel’s specifications – Including draft, bridge clearance, waterline length (for speed), cruising speed or polar diagrams. These details ensure your route is safe, efficient, and tailored to your boat.
Local Regulations — Route safely around fish farms, restricted areas and exactly as you should across shipping lanes.

Real-Time Recalculation

Once you start your journey, Savvy Navvy continuously monitors your GPS position, speed, and course over ground. If you get ahead of or behind schedule, the app automatically recalculates your route based on the latest conditions:

Wind shifts
Weather changes
Tidal heights and currents
